Summiteers launches new training label: The Ascent
Recently, we launched from Summiteers The Ascent, a new label that helps professionals strengthen their advisory skills.
Since the early years, Summiteers has been working according to an approach that combines advice with knowledge transfer. “We've always found it important to give our customers the knowledge they need to successfully execute complex change programs and projects,” says Dolf, one of the founders of Summiteers.
In recent years, the demand for counseling skills training has increased, forcing Summiteers to create a new label: The Ascent. “Our customers very regularly ask us for training (s); with The Ascent, we can now offer a very nice offer in return. It feels like a very logical next step in our development,” says Dolf.
A service for all professionals
“We have already provided regular in-company training courses for customers in recent years,” he continues his explanation: “We received such positive feedback that we decided to develop it into a service that is open to all professionals.”
The Ascent's target group includes professionals who, in their daily work, are involved in facilitating decisions and initiating change, regardless of their specific position or sector. In short, professionals active in various sectors and roles can come to The Ascent to develop their advisory skills.
In particular, the program focuses on people with at least five years of work experience, who play a role that requires advisory skills. Key traits of participants include “a willingness to take a critical look at themselves, a strong commitment to their own learning process, and the courage to take on challenges, even if they are sometimes uncomfortable,” Dolf explains.
The new training label will enrich participants' knowledge. In addition, the focus will be on areas such as the role and work of an advisor, trust as a guide in your professional relationships, working from vulnerability, conversation techniques (including dealing with resistance) and problem solving ability.
Comprehensive and complete learning path
L'Ortye emphasizes how The Ascent offers more than just a one-off training. “The Ascent offers an extensive and complete learning process, where there is room for each individual to structurally develop their skills. A process focused on experiencing and incorporating so that something actually changes. We not only provide plenary training courses, but also provide one-on-one coaching, do cases and work with training actors, for example.”
In addition, the program comes from the extensive practical experience of the Summiteers advisors themselves. “The Ascent is entirely based on how we look at the profession of advisor. How we do our job. There is an enormous amount of experience behind it. The Summiteers advisors therefore provide the training courses,” says L'Ortye.
“And that in a way that suits Summiteers: pragmatic, no nonsense, focused on humor and impact.”
Clean positioning
When asked why Summiteers actually chose to set up a separate label — in addition to the existing Summiteers (organizational advice) and Maisters (young professionals) labels — L'Ortye states that this was a conscious decision: “It's important for us to keep the positioning clean.”
“Summiteers is a consultancy firm specialized in strategy execution. Maisters is a young professional program. The Ascent is the label under which we offer training courses for a wide audience. That's how we keep it clean and recognisable.”
